IDTop.is Review: Is It a Good Site to Get Your Fake ID?
Fake IDs have been a thing since time immemorial, sold at the back of vans or from “a friend.” But thanks to the internet, there are so many more places where you can get one without leaving your home.
That’s why, now more than ever, people are at least considering getting a fake ID. After all, it’s so easy, so why not give it a try? So, despite the stigma attached to purchasing one, a person’s actual reason may be innocent. Perhaps they want one for novelty purposes, or they want to keep one on their person in case they get robbed.
To help you assess your options, I used Google to see what sites are out there. That’s how I found IDTop.is. This particular shop offers to produce IDs and driver’s licenses for 44 out of 50 states. And they claim that they can replicate the real thing!
Did you know that the seller is based in Guangzhou, China? Read more about what I learned about IDTop.is by reading the rest of the article.
The General Experience Using Their Site
IDTop.is is undoubtedly one of the more user-friendly and navigable websites that sell fake IDs online. I like the graphics on the above-the-fold copy because it’s attention-grabbing. This implies that a lot of people order one to get admitted to places while they’re still a little underaged. You can click the SHOP or ORDER buttons to proceed with your order.
Still, it’s very obvious that they used a cheap template to create the site. Personally, I don’t have a problem with it because it’s better than a site that looks like it’s from the early 2000s. The whole landing page is appealing, drawing you in to learn more about what they have to say. Their use of graphics and fonts changes from page to page.
From their website, I found out that their cards can also bypass scanning machines using DMV-grade Polycarbonate & PVC material. And with the discreet shipping they offer, no one will know that you’re having a fake ID delivered to your home.
What I like most is their product page. Here, you’ll find their products listed alphabetically. And when you click on one, you’ll be able to read more about the product you’re interested in. You’ll find out what specific security features you can expect with your order. There are even photos so that you can see them all up close.
They go into detail explaining how to spot a fake. This further lends credibility to the site because it looks like they know what they’re talking about. And the time invested in explaining the specific features for all their IDs helped me feel more confident about ordering from them.
Any doubt that I may have had about the seller vanished when I saw a video stream of their IDs. They even turned off the light so you could see the UV security features!
IDTop.is Website Information
So far, the website is associated with two registrars: Cloudflare NOC and IceNetworks LTD. But from what it looks like, Cloudflare handles the web hosting while the latter takes care of the domain name registration.
The first traces of the website came in 2012. And as of writing, the registration won’t expire until 2023. Below, you’ll find out a little more about the site’s history.
The website was first registered with them in 2012. But whether the same domain name was hosted is not known.
|January 19, 2012
|665 3rd Street, Suite 207 San Francisco, CA 94107 US
They have been associated with the website since March 17, 2016. The admin, tech, and billing of the site are also currently linked to them. Using multiple sources, all we were able to get from them is their address: Privacy Department MarketSquare 60 BZ Belize.
The domain was renewed with them on July 14, 2020, and will expire in 2023 on the same date.
What I Discovered About the Seller
By combing through various public and private forums, I was able to get more information about the seller. A lot of the reviews talk about the seller accepting Amazon as well as Visa/Mastercard gift cards, Bitcoin, Western Union, and Money Gram money transfers.
But there was so much more that I uncovered. Here are the biggest things you should know about:
They Offer Express Delivery
According to some reviewers, there’s an express delivery option that lets you get your orders in just three days. Clients can avail of this for an additional $50. One said that the express delivery in his area was performed by DHL.
However, nothing on the site indicates any sort of partnership with DHL. Their delivery choice for the express option may depend on what works best in your area.
They Don’t Respond to Any Reviews
We all know how common scams with fake IDs are. That’s why legit sites make an effort to respond to negative reviews to let readers know their side of the story.
But from what I’m seeing, they don’t respond to any kind of review. At first, I thought it was just to minimize expenses by focusing on improving their production. But I also saw on Reddit that they’re replying to posts and comments to recommend the site. Maybe it’s because there aren’t a lot of negative reviews, to begin with.
The Site They Operate May Not Be a Standalone Website
What we’ve found is that IDTop is also used with other domain extensions such as .ph. When talking about their experience in dealing with the .is counterpart, they can’t seem to separate the two.
Do they know something that I don’t? Perhaps. But because they haven’t replied to any of my comments in the forums I found, I can’t share anything more about this. What would help is if we could find out whether the payments are sent to the same place.
I’ve checked the other site, and the website design is more dated than the original. Both specialize in driver’s licenses. However, the .ph site is more blatant with the advertising that they target underaged people who want to get into bars to drink.
Looking Deeper at Reviews Online: What Are People Saying About Them?
I’ll go under the assumption that all the reviews online are real. Because no one would admit to buying fake IDs anyway, it would be hard to scrutinize which of the anonymous accounts are being truthful. I also disregarded reviews directly on the site as those are self-serving.
The number of reviews that I’ve found is minimal, and most of them are comments in a post about IDTop or a complaints board. Some are in private forums. But from the looks of it, the site is not as popular (or notorious, depending on how you look at the culture of reviewing products and services online) as other sites.
As for the glowing reviews, IDTop apparently fulfilled its promises and so much more. The reviewers said that the seller was able to deliver orders on time. More importantly, the IDs worked for their intended purposes.
Whatever those intended purposes may be, they didn’t specify. But as promised, it has all the premium elements that make it indistinguishable from the real thing.
And compared to other vendors, their turnaround time is relatively quick. The express delivery option really makes a difference for those in a hurry.
Unfortunately, there are some reviews that expressed disappointment with the service. Despite a lot of the assertions that the IDs are high-quality, some reviews claim the opposite. According to them, the print quality is bad, and it lacks the features you’d want on a fake ID.
Meanwhile, others claimed they were completely ghosted. According to them, customer support was very responsive until the payment was sent. These reviewers talked about sending multiple emails and receiving no response. One even connected with them in the guise of being a new customer. But once they asked the seller about updates again, they were ghosted.
Given the information that we’ve uncovered about IDTop, we can at least safely say that they’re not a scam. But that doesn’t mean that they’re anywhere near as reliable as any respectable business should be.
Assuming that all reviews found online (both good and bad) are true, I personally won’t be getting a fake ID from them. There are just as many bad reviews as there are good ones. That doesn’t really look good if you want to be sure to get your order.
But if you want to take the shot, go for it! Have you already ordered from them? Please tell us all about your experience in the comments section.
